Catherine next married Alexander McArthur in 1851 in Co. Antrim, Ireland. Alexander was born in 1832 in Ireland, died in 1887 in Spaulding, Greeley Cty., NE, at age 55, and was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.

General Notes: Believed to have died in New York City of food poisoning. Katherine Meehan said Alexander and Mary died after eating some cherries. Another son who was born later was named Alexander.

+ 11    iii. Ellen McArthur was born on 21 Dec 1857 in County Antrim, Ireland, died on 22 Dec 1943 in Stockton, San Joaquin, California, USA, at age 86, and was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Fresno, Fresno Co. California.

   12    iv. Patrick McArthur was born in 1862 in Ireland and died in 1863 at Sea, at age 1.

General Notes: Believed to have been born in Ireland and died at 8 months of age whilecrossing the Atlantic with his parents. His body was thrown overboard.Cause of death was unknown.

+ 13    v. Catherine Ann McArthur was born on 6 Mar 1864 in New York City, New York, died on 19 Dec 1937 in Omaha, Douglas Cty., NE, at age 73, and was buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery In Omaha, Nebraska.

   14    vi. Daniel Joseph McArthur was born in 1867 in New York and died in 1885 in Spaulding, Greeley Cty., NE, at age 18.

General Notes: Daniel died of appendicitis according to Katherine Meehan. He died in Spaulding, Nebraska at about 18 years of age and is buried in the McArthur family plot in Spalding. The Keenan history lists his year of death as 1885.

   15    vii. Alexander J. McArthur was born on 19 Mar 1870 in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, died on 3 Aug 1948 in Spaulding, Greeley Co., Nebraska, USA, at age 78, and was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Greely Co. Nebraska, USA.

   16    viii. Mary Elizabeth McArthur was born in May 1872 in Wayne County, . Pennsylvania, died on 3 Apr 1946 in Spaulding, Greeley Cty., NE, at age 73, and was buried in Spaulding, Greeley Cty., NE.

General Notes: Mary lived all her life with her brother Alex on their farm in Spalding. She never married. She is believed to be buried in the cemetery in Spalding in the family plot but there is no headstone. She was said to be the quiet one in the family.

Mary married someone.

3. Charles B. McVey was born in 1827 in Ireland, died in 1912 in Pennsylvania, at age 85, and was buried in St. Juliana's Cemetery, Rock Lake, Pennsylvania.

Charles married Margaret Mansfield in 1856. Margaret was born in Aug 1830 in Lismore, Co. Waterford, Ireland, died on 30 Jan 1923 in Pennsylvania, at age 92, and was buried in St. Juliana's Cemetery, Rock Lake, Pennsylvania.

Catherine married William J. Burns. William was born in 1871, died in 1902 in Pennsylvania, at age 31, and was buried in St. Juliana's Cemetery, Rock Lake, Pennsylvania.

   20    iv. Mary Agnes McVey was born in 1863 in Pennsylvania, died on 13 May 1927 in Rock Lake, Pennsylvania, at age 64, and was buried in St. Juliana's Cemetery, Rock Lake, Pennsylvania.

   21    v. Margaret T. McVey was born in 1865 in Pennsylvania, died in 1877 in Pennsylvania, at age 12, and was buried in St. Juliana's Cemetery, Rock Lake, Pennsylvania.

General Notes: Hugh was a frail, sickly child. He studied for the priesthood, but left it and returned home. He died a very young man of "lung infection". He is buried in the family plot in the parish cemetery in Loughgiel, near Ballymena.
